Elle a été réalisée à partir d’extraits des films suivants : Duel with Gravity by V. Konovalov, 1986. La poussée by V. Gulyev, 1984.&#38;nbsp;

Et si la lutte est la raison de toute ta vie. Si chaque muscle clame :
Entraîne-moi. 
Fais des exercices. 
Pique une course.
Trouve un concurrent ou lutte tout au moins contre un poteau.
Il est difficile de commencer, mais il est autrement difficile de s’arrêter.
Même quand on a le dos contre le tapis. Tant pis. Il faut se lever et aller plus loin. Il faudra maintenant lutter contre soi-même. »&#38;nbsp;

La performance s’intéresse aux usines hydroélectriques, d’aluminium et de pâtes et papiers situées à Shawinigan, en Mauricie. Initiateur du projet, Frédéric Boisclair est issu d’une famille de travailleurs de ces usines. Composée de matériel original ainsi que d’archives 16 mm provenant de chutes de films corporatifs filmés dans les usines de la région, Y’a matière au pays des éclairs interroge différents lieux et matières propres à l’imaginaire collectif industriel de la Mauricie.Y’a matière au pays des éclairs is an audiovisual performance combining soundscapes by musician Frédéric Boisclair with live 16mm projections by filmmaker Charles-André Coderre. The performance focuses on the hydroelectric, aluminum and pulp and paper plants located in Shawinigan, Mauricie. The project's initiator, Frédéric Boisclair, comes from a family of factory workers at these plants. Composed of original material and 16mm archival footage taken from corporate films shot in the region's factories, Y’a matière au pays des éclairs examines the various places and materials specific to the Mauricie region's collective industrial imagination.

Fractures Chimiques – ON/OFF est issu d’une performance audiovisuelle alliant projection 16mm et musique électronique réactive. À&#38;nbsp;l’aide d’un dispositif de capteurs fixé directement sur l’écran, l’information lumineuse qui s’échappe des projecteurs est récoltée et réacheminée vers des synthétiseurs modulaires générant en direct la trame sonore du film. Fractures Chimiques – ON/OFF est le premier film d’une série d’expérimentations sur les relations entre musique et cinéma dans des contextes performatifs.Fractures Chimiques – ON/OFF is the result of an audiovisual performance combining 16mm projection and reactive electronic music. Using a&#38;nbsp;sensor device attached directly to the screen, the light information escaping from the projectors is collected and transferred to modular synthesizers which generate the film’s live soundtrack. Fractures Chimiques – ON/OFF is the first film of a series of experiments on the relationship between music and film in performative contexts.

This film documents the circumstances surrounding the creation of Jerusalem In My Heart’s live recording of “Wa Ta’atalat Loughat Al Kalam” (The language of speech has broke down) in 2017 (Beirut, Lebanon). Ya Garat Al Wadi is a popular piece of Egyptian music arranged by the legendary composer Mohammad Abdel Wahab and written by the poet Ahmad Shawqy in 1928. Over the years, it has been interpreted by many influential artists, such as Fairuz, and the Rahbani brothers. Most notably, towards the end of the 1960s, the Lebanese singer Nour el Houda made an unforgettable contemporary rendition of this composition for television. More than 90 years later, this piece continues to fascinate the cultural imaginary, to the point where in December 2017, with the initiative of the experimental composer Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem in My Heart), an orchestra of 15 musicians was formed over the period of five days in Beirut to once again reinterpret this great classic of Arab music for a contemporary audience. Particles, 7 min 2020.
D’abord imaginé pour accompagner une performance de la musicienne Jessica Moss, Particles est composé de fragments hétérogènes rassemblés par un travail d’alchimie pelliculaire. Ceux qui sont familiers avec l’oeuvre de Charles-André Coderre reconnaîtront l’approche d'un art patiemment développé depuis une douzaine d’années. Le traitement chimique de la pellicule, ainsi que son développement au moyen d’algues, de café ou de terre produisent des couleurs denses et chatoyantes, rouge, violet et turquoise, comme si leur lumière émanait des choses elles-mêmes.
Tourné en Inde et au Myanmar, le film nous entraîne dans un mouvement qui entremêle images de la circulation urbaine et travellings en voiture, plans rapprochés de plantes et abstractions lumineuses. Si la signification nous échappe à première vue, c’est que chez Coderre le sens réside dans la fusion même de la matière.
Peu à peu, les images réitérées d’un joueur de cricket effectuant un lancer et d’une vache déambulant parmi les passants d’une ville se conjuguent pour occuper la fin du film. Le cricket étant un sport que les Indiens ont pris aux colonisateurs anglais comme on s’empare d’un butin de guerre, imaginons que les grands gestes du bowler s’offrent à nous comme un appel à la fois à l’insurrection et à l’embrasement des formes du cinéma, libération qui trouve ici son équivalent dans la circulation sans entrave de l’animal.
